Having missed the first weekend I vowed I wouldn't miss the second and am so glad I didn't.

Artists throughout the borough opened their doors and showed what a truly talented bunch they all are.

Sadly, I couldn't get round the whole lot ( Ealing's rather a big borough!) - but from what I saw I can quite confidently say the place is absolutely full of talent! It was great to see lots of other people wandering round too and most people I spoke to were enthusiastic and said they hoped this could be a regular fixture.

I can't list all the artists ( The complete list of participants can be found here www.ealingbeat.org ) but a special mention must be made to (possibly) the oldest exhibitor - the remarkable (and very sprightly!) John Kaye, from W13... who is 94!

John was displaying his wood and metal sculptures at The Orchard Cafe and very impressive they were too. I hope to speak to John about his life and art work in more depth very soon.

Well done to all the organisers of this first Art trail and big thanks to the many men and women who kindly opened their homes and showed off their wonderful works.
