Many teachers and students throughout Ealing have been breathing a sign of relief on results day.

Featherstone High School report 75% of grades were at A*-C with seven academic subjects achieving over 40% of grades at the highest level of A*-B

In the Level 3 BTEC exams 75% of all grades were at Distinction or Distinction*.

Mr Wadwa, Headteacher, added “we are so thrilled that the hard work of students and staff has paid off and now opened up so many doors of opportunity.” We are particularly pleased with our Maths results today. Mr Hind, Head of Maths commented that "despite a very difficult exam we were delighted that 30% of students achieved grades at A* and A." Many of our students have been accepted on to their first choice courses at prestigious Russell Group Universities.

Dilmeet Singh, our first ever student to get into Cambridge (St John’s College to study Human, Social and Political Sciences), achieved an A* in Economics, A* in Politics, and an A in Maths today, and is very excited about starting his course, “my grades and my achievement are down to the hard work of the teachers here at Featherstone and my own dedication. The teachers here really push the students and motivate them to do the best that they can. I am looking forward to meeting the brightest of students from around the world at Cambridge, making friends and working hard for my future.”

Mr Paterson, who leads the FHS Scholars Programme at Featherstone, commented that “Dilmeet is an extremely motivated and hardworking student who has shown immense commitment to his studies. The Scholars Programme here provides mentoring for students, visits to Oxbridge and helps students choose courses and prepare for interviews.”

Other students celebrated getting into Russell Group Universities: Anmol Mhay (A, A, A) is starting Biochemical Engineering at UCL. She said: “I so pleased with my results and I’m really looking forward to meeting new people at university.” Ramanpreet Singh (A, A, B) is off to King’s College London to study Computer Science and put his top grades down to: “Revising hard! I’m pleased now that I put all that hard work in and I’m really excited about starting university.”

Priya Raheja (A*, double Distinction*) wanted to thank the teachers for being “so supportive and giving the students lots of extra booster sessions”. She is looking forward to starting her course in Management and Marketing at Cardiff University. Rasat Bajwa (A*, A*, Distinction*) said he has ‘really enjoyed being at Feathestone Sixth Form. I’ve got really good friends from my time here and now I’m looking forward to starting my Economics course at Sussex University.” Tarron Sondh (Distinction* Distinction, Distinction) added “the sports facilities at Featherstone are excellent and I’d also really like to thank my Business Studies teachers for being so supportive. I’m excited about starting my Sport Management course at St Mary’s University.”

Mark Thorley, Head of Sixth Form, said, “I just want to congratulate staff and students today for their hard work and dedication. I want to wish all our students the best of luck in their future endeavours.”

Elthorne Park Sixth Form students and staff are also celebrating a third consecutive year of excellent results, with 85% of all grades awarded at A* - C, and 1 in every five A Levels graded at A or A*.

Top performing students were Seoan Webb (pictured above) who achieved three A* grades and is off to study History at Oxford University and Alexander Hood who achieved two A* and two A grades which will see him go on to study Computer Science.

Exceptional performance was also achieved by Eleanor Barry and Rachel Andrews who both gained A grades in all their subjects. In Advance level BTEC top achieving students were Chloe Allam who gained D*D*D in Health and Social Care, Zain Ishaque who achieved D*DD in Business Studies and Samuel Djan who gained a D*DD in his BTEC Sport qualification.

Headteacher, Eliot Wong said, “Year after year I am delighted with what our students and staff achieve, and this year is no different. After a fantastic year, where Ofsted graded the  school as ‘Outstanding’, our Sixth Form continues to go from strength to strength, consistently delivering excellent results. I wish all of our fantastic students the very best at their chosen universities and other destinations.”

Meanwhile at St Benedicts The number of A*/A grades achieved by students is up again this year, at 42.2%. This is the highest proportion of top grades achieved at the school for the last 6 years.

There have been some quite spectacular results, with seven students achieving straight A* grades in at least 3 subjects: Phoebe Daly Jones (A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and Physics), Jules Dehon (A* grades in Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics), Max Lubowiecki (A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and Physics), Lucian Mac-Fall (A* grades in Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics), Edward Moss (A* grades in Drama, Economics and Politics), Paulina Sienniak (A* grades in Classical Civilisation, History and Politics), and Sam Symes (A* grades in Art, Chemistry and Maths).

Twenty four St Benedict’s students have at least 3 A grades at A level this year.

A number of academic departments at St Benedict’s have seen absolutely outstanding results this year: 80% of exams in Art and at least 60% of exams in Drama, German, History and Maths scored A* or A grades.

Headmaster, Andrew Johnson, said: “It is excellent to see top grades up once again at St Benedict’s. I offer my warmest congratulations to our students and their teachers, who have worked so hard to achieve such impressive results”.
