A new free advice service is being launched in West Ealing today (Thursday 1st October).

Building on a similar scheme running in Westminster, Catalyst Housing and A2Dominion are behind the Advice Plus service which will be unveiled at the café at Green Man Lane, Singapore Road, Ealing, W13 0EP.  Ealing residents are welcome to drop-in any time between 1pm and 4pm.

A range of experts from organisations including Ealing Council, Ealing Mind, the West London Mental Health Trust, Do$h, and both Catalyst and A2Dominion, will be on hand to advise residents in areas that can help them maintain their tenancies and keep well, including:

  • ·         Employment and training advice and support
  • ·         Support with health and wellbeing, including mindfulness and healthy eating
  • ·         Expert advice on lowering energy bills
  • ·         Advice on managing money and getting out of debt
  • ·         Help with housing queries.

Wendy Sweeney, Catalyst’s Financial Confidence Programme Manager explained: “A lot of local people struggle with daily life – especially with keeping healthy, managing their money and being able to pay their rent. For some people, the advice and support that they can get from Advice Plus will make a massive difference to the quality of theirs and their family’s lives.”

Heather David, A2Dominion’s Head of Community Investment, said: “We’re delighted to be launching our successful Advice Plus service and to continue providing support for residents and families in Ealing.

“We already offer the service in Westminster, where it’s had a big impact on people’s lives, and last year our Advice Plus sessions helped a total of 2,754 people and enabled us to reduce residents’ debt by £118,150.”

Following the launch, Advice Plus will be open for business every month in the Green Man Lane cafe – at the heart of A2Dominion’s regeneration of the Green Man Lane estate in Ealing.
