Groundbreaking work has begun for Ealing's newest High School.

Kier Construction, the contractors for the Ada Lovelace CofE High School took possession of the site on Park View Road in W5 on Monday 4 February and before work starts in earnest a Groundbreaking Service was held.

The school is the latest addition to the Twyford CofE Academies Trust which consists of Twyford CofE High School, William Perkins CofE High School and Ealing Fields all in Ealing.

Groundbreaking is a traditional ceremony in many cultures that celebrates the first day of construction for a building. The service was led by the Assistant Area Dean Revd Carolyn Dunk and attended by representatives of the five tutor groups of Year 7 Ada Lovelace CofE High School students, the chaplain, staff, governors and directors of Twyford CofE Academies Trust, the Department of Education and their technical advisors Mace, as well as the project team from Kier Construction.

Ada Lovelace CofE High School opened in its temporrary site in September 2018 and is being hosted by William Perkin CofE High School on Oldfield Lane in Greenford.

It's expected to move into its own school building in W5 in 2020.
