A woman cyclist is in a critical condition after a collision involving a lorry on the Uxbridge Road close to the junction with Northfields Avenue in West Ealing.

The air ambulance landed at Dean Gardens shortly after the first reports and the woman was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said:

"We were called at 1:31pm to reports of a road traffic collision on Uxbridge Road.

"We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and an advanced paramedic to the scene, with the first of our medics arriving in seven minutes. London's Air Ambulance was also dispatched to the scene.

"We treated a female patient at the scene for pelvic and leg injuries and she was taken to hospital by London's Air Ambulance."

Police said, ''At around 13:35hrs on Thursday, 12 October, officers came upon the scene of a collision involving a lorry and a cyclist on The Broadway at the junction with Northfield Avenue, Ealing.

The female cyclist (no further details) was taken to an east London hospital. Her condition is described as critical at this stage. The lorry involved stopped at the scene.

No arrests; enquiries continue. The Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.

Emergency services remain on the scene.
