A doctor and two nurses from the Marie Stopes clinic in Ealing will appear before the Old Bailey next month.

They have been charged with the manslaughter of a woman who died just hours after having an abortion.

The 32-year-old woman died after the procedure at the Mattock Lane clinic in January 2012.

Dr Adedayo Adedeji, 62; Gemma Pullen, 31; and Margaret Miller, 54, were all charged with manslaughter, namely by gross negligence and failing to take reasonable care of other persons who may be affected by acts or omissions at work, contrary to Section 7 and 33 Health and Safety Act 1974.

The three appeared at Ealing Magistrates' Court on Friday (June 19) and have been bailed to appear at the Old Bailey on July 3.
