Former staff at Marie Stopes due to appear in court on gross negligency charges

A doctor and two nurses, who worked at the Marie Stopes Clinic in Ealing, have been charged with the manslaughter of a woman who died hours after an abortion.

The woman, 32, from the Republic of Ireland, died in Ealing after the procedure in January 2012.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) have charged the following:

Dr Adedayo Adedeji, 62 has been charged with manslaughter, namely by gross negligence and failing to take reasonable care of other persons who may be affected by acts or omissions at work, contrary to Section 7 and 33 Health and Safety Act 1974

Gemma Pullen, 31 has been charged with manslaughter, namely by gross negligence and failing to take reasonable care of other persons who may be affected by acts or omissions at work, contrary to Section 7 and 33 Health and Safety Act 1974

Margaret Miller, 54 has been charged with manslaughter, namely by gross negligence and failing to take reasonable care of other persons who may be affected by acts or omissions at work, contrary to Section 7 and 33 Health and Safety Act 1974

All three have been summonsed to appear on Friday, 19 June.
