Man Found Guilty of Manslaughter Following Southall Attack

Police seek others involved in fight in March

A man has been found guilty of the manslaughter of a man in Southall and police are seeking others who may have been involved in the attack in March.

Mohamed Abdillahi, 25, was found guilty at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 3 October of the manslaughter of 27-year-old Augustus Fenton

Abdillahi had pleaded guilty to violent disorder at the start of the trial.

Abdillahi had been one of a group of three men who punched and kicked Augustus in a fight in King Street, Southall at around 15:30hrs on Tuesday, 28 March.

Minutes later, Augustus was attacked again in Featherstone Road by a group of five males including Abdillahi. Augustus was fatally stabbed during this second attack.

Augustus, who was from Southall, was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries the following morning. A post-mortem examination on Thursday, 30 March gave cause of death as stab wounds.

A second man, aged in his 30s, was also stabbed during the attack. He has been discharged from hospital, but has a lasting injury to his hand.

Abdillahi was also found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to this second victim.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command investigated the stabbing. No motive has ever been established for the attack.

Abdillahi was arrested on Tuesday, 4 April and appeared the following day at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court.

A second man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has been released with no further action.

Police enquiries continue in order to trace the other members of the group.
