A 30 year old man is due to appear in court today charged with murdering a man in Southall.

Saqib Asif Khan, of Derley Road, Southall is due at Feltham Magistrates Court (Tuesday 17 May).

At approximately 12.15 hrs on Saturday 14 May, police were made aware of a man being assaulted in Spikes Bridge Road.

It is believed the 24-year-old victim was attacked around 06.00 hrs on the same day. He was taken to a west London hospital where he later died.

A post-mortem at Uxbridge mortuary today, Sunday 15 May, gave cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.

Next of kin have not been informed and formal identification will take place in due course.

An incident room has opened under Detective Inspector Richard Ambrose of the Metropolitan Police's Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC).

A 21-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the enquiry has been released with no further action.
