A man's been charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a house in Castlebar Hill and making himself at home.

Police say they had previously investigated reports of suspicious activity at the propery and a patrolling officer had returned to the address to make sure it was secure.

The officer became suspicious after noticing the front door glass panel smashed, a light on and the curtains fully drawn.

He called for assistance and found a 48 year old man sitting at the dining table, eating soup.

The man, of no fixed address, had a wallet, purse and jewellery on him which it's alleged had been stolen whilst at the house.

He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to a West London police station.

He's been charged with burglary and has appeared at Ealing Magistrates Court.
