Detectives are appealing for information following a vicious assault in South Ealing Road at the junction with Airedale Road on the 1st January 2011.

The 25 year old victim was walking towards the South Ealing Tube Station around 0450hrs and witnessed around eight 18 - 20 year olds beating someone up outside Barclays Bank.

He called to the suspects to stop and was then surrounded and attacked by the group with a metal bar. He received a broken jaw which was broken in two places.

Investigating Officer PC Dhanjal said :

“I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have heard or seen anything. The victim did go to the aid of an unknown person who was getting beaten up and was viciously assaulted for his trouble.
