Red Lion Set To Reopen at the End of the Month

Fuller’s has confirmed that the Red Lion on St Mary’s Road will be reopening at the end of March.
The pub has been shut since the 12 January when the previous tenants left saying that rising costs had made it impossible for them to make money.
The new tenants will be the same team behind The Andover Arms in Hammersmith. This is a popular neighbourhood pub in the Brackenbury district near Ravenscourt Park which is described as a gastro-pub.
It is understood that this move heralds a new approach with a greater emphasis on the food offering at the Ealing pub.
The current menu at The Andover Arms offers options such as hake and mussels with a Jerusalem artichoke puree and white wine velouté as well as a venison and mushroom pithivier.
The kitchen manager at the Andover Arms, Helder Gonclaves, will be part of the new team at the Red Lion. He was previously Head Chef of The White Horse on Parsons Green and has worked at the Michelin Starred The River Café and received 2 AA Rosettes for his food at The Anchor at Walberswrick, Suffolk.
He will be working with Luke Swain and Suzanne Posthumus. Suzanne was front of house The Andover Arms. She came to London a decade ago for her Masters in Fine Arts at Goldsmiths University, and her past roles include Manager at Melrose and Morgan Primrose Hill and The Poetry Café, Covent Garden. Luke has worked as General Manager at Browns Manchester, The Engineer in Primrose Hill and at The White Horse on Parsons Green.
The team are already in situ and a spokesperson for Fuller’s said, “It will be warm and welcoming, with a delicious menu of high-end traditional pub fayre and a regular BBQ.”
