Mentally Ill Woman Eludes Carer on Springbridge Road

Police appealing for help in returning Safia Abdi to hospital

Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a missing woman from a mental health unit in Ealing.

Safia Abdi, 48, was on escorted leave from the Orchard Unit, St Bernard’s Hospital, Ealing, on Monday, 8 August, when she made off from her carer in Ealing Broadway at the junction with Springbridge Road, at around 2pm.

Safia is described as a black woman and was last seen wearing a green headscarf, a blue waist length jacket, a grey and white knitted jumper, a brown and yellow floral skirt and black sandals.

She has been receiving treatment after being detained under section 37 of the Mental Health Act.

Anyone with any information as to Safia Abdi’s whereabouts is asked to call police on 101.
