Three men have been jailed after a car was stopped in Ealing and found to contain heroin with an estimated street value of £200,000.

Jade Broadbelt, of Cricklewood, and Dwayne Campbell, of Norwood, were inside the car. The police had identified them during their investigations into drug supply in north London.

When the car was searched, it was found to contain two kilos of the Class A drug as well as £4,000 in cash in a sophisticated hydraulic hide.

They were arrested and taken into custody.

Further enquiries linked the pair to a third man – Demetri Fairweather, of Wembley. His house was searched and officers found one kilogram of cannabis and a further £120,000 in cash.

The three men were found guilty at Harrow Crown Court on Wednesday, 5 May. They were sentenced at the same court on Friday, 9 June.

44-year-old Campbell got the longest sentence receiving 13 years’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and two counts of possessing criminal property with 33-year-old Broadbelt getting eight years for the same offences. 27-year-old Fairweather got just 12 months for the drug dealing offence only.

Detective Constable Leigh Dooley, who led the investigation, said: “Thanks to the perceptiveness of officers, these three men have been prevented from spreading harmful substances around the city, if not further afield, and have not been allowed to benefit from the harm they are causing others.”

“We thank the court for the sentences given to these three men and hope that over the coming years given Broadbelt, Fairweather and Campbell reflect on their crimes and realise the damage they have done to so many.”
