A 40-year-old man from Southall has been jailed for six months after being found guilty of possession of heroin.

Ranjit Baden of West End Road was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court after admitting the charge.

He had been stopped by officers from Lady Margaret Safer Neighbourhood Team on 23 July on Northcote Avenue, Southall, after he was seen in an alleyway.

The police found five wraps of heroin in his pocket. He was subsequently arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

In interview, Baden admitted to possession of the drugs and was later charged with this offence.

PC Daniel Martinez, Lady Margaret Safer Neighbourhoods Team said, “The West Area Safer Neighbourhood Teams are dedicated to dealing with the issues raised by our residents. We will continue to tackle and disrupt those intent on supplying and using drugs on our streets.”
