A second person has been charged with murder in connection with the killing of 16-year-old Rishmeet Singh.

The 17-year-old male was due to appear at the Old Bailey this Tuesday (14 December) after a hearing last Friday at Willesden Magistrates' Court.

Another 17-year-old has already appeared at the Old Bailey and has been remanded in custody with the date of his next appearance to be confirmed. He was arrested on Thursday 2 December.

Neither suspect has been named because of their age.

A third male aged 19 was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, 30 November. He was bailed to a date in late December.

Rishmeet died of wounds received after being stabbed on Raleigh Road in Southall on the evening of Wednesday, 24 November.

Police say they were called to the scene after reports of a fight and found the teenager with stab wounds. He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene shortly afterwards.

The investigation into his death is being carried out by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime led by Detective Chief Inspector James Shirley.
