A man found with serious injuries on a canal boat in Greenford is believed to be the suspect in the murder of two people.

49-year-old Lee Peacock is fighting for his life after he was discovered near Ferrymead Avenue this Wednesday (25 August) at 5.55pm with what police believe are self-inflicted wounds.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and Mr. Peacock was transferred to hospital in what is described as a life-threatening condition.

He had earlier been the subject of a national manhunt after two people were found dead. The body of 45-year-old Sharon Pickles was discovered at her home in Ashbridge Street, Westminster shortly before 9.35pm last Thursday (19 August).

Clinton Ashmore, 59, was stabbed in North West London at 2.15am on Friday. Despite the efforts of paramedics he died at the scene. Both victims had been stabbed in the neck and were known to Lee Peacock.

The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards was informed and the incident was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct who have indicated that they will be conducting an independent investigation as is normal in such circumstances.
