A twenty-year-old man from Southall who was arrested outside Chiswick Park tube station after being found in possession of two Skorpion sub-machine guns has been jailed for nine years and nine months.
David Longhor of Villiers Road was detained by armed police officers on Tuesday 2 March of this year after carrying the guns on the underground in order, he claimed, to pay off a debt.
A video was released of the arrest which showed him being pinned down by police officers who approached the scene in an unmarked car after tracking Longhor since he began his journey in Southall.
He denied that the guns that he was carrying in a rucksack were his but he was wearing latex gloves at the time.
Metropolitan Police experts examined the guns which were recovered along with 40 rounds of live ammunition and found they had been converted for rapid fire.
He was sentenced this Wednesday (21 July) at Isleworth Crown Court in relation to two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon with intent to endanger life and one count of ammunition with intent to endanger life.

In 2019, a total of 366 firearms capable of a lethal discharge were seized. In 2020 that increased to 443. An increase of 74 firearms. This year (to 28 April 2021), the police have seized 121 firearms capable of lethal discharge – which includes three Skorpion machine guns.
