A jury at the Old Bailey has been told that film of the killing of a Northolt man emerged two years after his death.

28-year-old Jason Marshall is accused of the murder of Peter Fasoli in Rubens Road back in January 2013. He was extradited from Italy earlier this year after the footage was discovered on the 58-year-old victim’s computer by his nephew.

Up to that point Mr Fasoli was believed to have died in a fire that took place in his home. Initially the post-mortem had concluded that he had died from smoke inhalation but a subsequent examination showed that him being restrained and asphyxiated had contributed to the death.

Marshall is accused of killing Mr Fasoli during a bondage sex session and then setting fire to the property in a bid to cover his tracks. He had first made contact with his victim through a gay social networking site.

The fire-damaged computer was retrieved by Christopher Murgatroyd who was researching his family tree. Instead he discovered six hours of footage showing his uncle’s death.

It is alleged that Marshall stole money from Mr Fasoli and used it to fly to Rome.

Marshall has denied murder. The trial continues.
