A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Augustus Fenton in Southall last week.

Mohamed Abdillahi, of no fixed address, was arrested on Tuesday, 4 April and charged in the early hours of the following morning. Abdillahi was also charged with wounding with intent. He will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 5 April.

A second man was arrested on suspicion with assisting an offender. He has been bailed pending further enquires to a date to be confirmed.

Augustus Fenton, from Southall, was died from knife wounds he received after being attacked at around 3.30pm in Featherstone Road, near the junction with Hartington Road on 28 March. He was taken to hospital but died the following morning.

A second man, aged 31, received minor stab injuries during the incident. He was taken to a central London hospital and has since been discharged.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
