Six women from Essex have been arrested after a man and a woman were assaulted on a District line train at Ealing Broadway station on Saturday (22 August).

A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said, “We were called to Ealing Broadway station shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday 22 August, to reports of an assault on a District line train.

“Colleagues from Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service also attended and spoke to a 34-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man who had been assaulted.

“They were taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining cuts and bruises. The woman required stitches to her forehead.

“Six women aged between 18 and 27, from Essex, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm."

They have been bailed until Wednesday, 16 September, pending further enquiries.
