Two burglars failed to break into a local hardware this weekend after police responded quickly to a tip off.

On Sunday 28th December the police were called to a reports of a disturbance at the Robert Dyas store on Pitshanger Lane.

Two male suspects were detained and arrested at 4.40am in the backyard of the store.

As a result of the quick response from the police, no property was stolen. There has, however, been some damage done to a part of a building and a fencing leading to a courtyard.

During questioning both men admitted burglary and were subsequently charged with non-residential burglary.

Unemployed, 37 years old Brian Harding from West London remanded in police custody to appear before West London Magistrate Court on 29/12/2008.

Also unemployed, 40 years old David Ricketts also from West London was bailed to appear before Ealing Magistrate Court on 07/01/2009
