In critical condition after collision on A40 near Northolt

A 24-year-old woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a lorry on the A40 in the early hours of Wednesday, 2 September.

The emergency services were called at 1.42am to the scene near the Target Roundabout where paramedics found her suffering from multiple injuries.

She was taken to hospital where her condition is described as critical.

Her next of kin has been informed.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene and is assisting with the investigation.

The westbound carriageway of the A40 was closed and a police cordon remains in place.
