A Mercedes car was left hanging off a roof after it crashed through the wall of the Arcadia shopping centre in Ealing after the elderly driver had a parking mishap.

The Mercedes soft top crashed through the wall on the car park on the roof.

The incident occurred at around 10.15 this morning (Thursday July 1).

No other vehicles were involved and police say that the driver was uninjured.

London Fire Brigade crews attended the scene, securing the car and moving it to a safe position.

A shopping centre spokeswoman said the driver thought she'd hit the brake but hit the accelerator. Believing the brakes had failed she hit the accelerator again and careered through the wall.

The area was been cordoned off and Spring Bridge Road was closed.
