In a major step to developing a first class community portal for Ealing two of West London's leading providers of local on-line information have decided to work together.

The new look EalingToday.co.uk site will be edited by the team that currently run Lammas.com, the very popular entertainment based site for the area. The combined membership of the sites will be over 2,000 making it already one of the largest of its kind in the U.K.

As well as producing a regular newsletter focusing on pubs and restaurants in the area, subscribers to Lammas.com will also received a news and events based e-mail newsletter for the Ealing area.

The software and applications for the site will be developed by Ealing based Neighbour Net Ltd. which provides back up and support for seven similar sites across London including www.ChiswickW4.com which is Europe's largest community portal.

Over 5,000 people receive an e-mail newsletter from this site every week - the joint Lammas.com/www.ealingtoday.co.uk site will have over 2,000 registered users.

A spokesperson for Neighbour Net said, "We are very optimistic about the prospects for EalingToday.co.uk. Ealing already has a vibrant community with a great deal of active citizenship and, combined with the local knowledge of Lammas.com, that makes a recipe for a great site."

Also involved in the site will be Ealing Centre Partnership who are planning to use the site to promote Ealing as a commercial centre and an exciting cultural destination.
